There are 2 ways deuterium can react with itself:

1) Produces tritium possessing 1.01 million electron volts of kinetic
energy and a proton with 3.02 mev.

2) Produces helium 3 with .82 mev and a NEUTRON with 2.57 mev.

The 2 reactions occur with equal probability.
