IDX is for index, the index to your mail basket.

Delete your mail regularly, and compress your folders regularly.

Try doing the compress folders and see if the deleted message text is still
there. Also remember that your client is configured by default to save a
copy of all of your outgoing (or sent) mail.

To turn it off in Internet Mail, Click on View, Options, and uncheck the
box that reads "save copy of sent messages in the 'sent items' folder."
