This is beautiful news, I loved the book very much.
There have been modern re-writes of SF of the 50/60s (I think also
"The City and the Stars" may have been re-written but I may have it
wrong). I have often thought that I would love reading a re-write of
Childhood's End, expanded to 800 pages, with a much longer scene on
the Overlord's planet, and a much deeper description of life on Earth
under the Overlords. Perhaps a new book comes out of the screenplay?
