...Except when emailing a person privately. All lower case is a reminder
to the person that this is a personal offlist reply, in which case the
non-standard use of capitalization carries meaning. It helps prevent
someone from accidentally posting your personal note to a list.
Or if you accidentally post a personal note to a public list, the
fact that it is all lower case indicates your intention. spike
