YES. I use Windoze where I have to for work and for one PDA
that I am not convinced works better or as well when converted
to run Linux. But the above article is somewhat dated as it
ignores the fact that Open Office reads (and writes) Word
documents just fine in its latest incarnation and has an open
format to its own data storage (XML). Highly recommended for
staying off of Windoze without losing the ability to read many
files.
