Invisible hand. There is a demand for secure systems, therefore there are
companies that supply kits for making your open source OS secure. In the
case of the closed-source project, it doesn't matter what the demand is
doing if the owner doesn't want to spend money on making it secure. Google
"bastille linux" for example, and compare with similar efforts for Windows
(can't think of any? big surprise there...)
