SI==Superintelligence. Substantially more than human intelligence,
however implemented, An AI (or AGI) need not be an SI, and an SI
need not be an AGI, but nearly everybody assumes that AI will lead to
SI. In most scenarios, an SI is assumed to be able to understand and
enhance its own intelligence.

(AI==Artificial intelligence. AGI == Artificial general intelligence.)

I personally believe that the first SI will consist of one or more
humans using non-AI software to collaborate with computers, but I
Also believe that the first SI will immediately develop AGI and
incorporate it.
