My understanding(just having perused the book once) was that the Sauron supermen had very superior physical strength, stamina and healing capacity, but not enhanced intellect.
The "brave free normals" Damien writes of are in fact the products of the most vicious prison planet around! So obviously, the Sauron invaders eventually all get raped, beaten and knifed to death.
