I would not. Patrick is wrong, since Vermont, one of the most rural
states in the union, is the only state with a law legalizing gay
marriage, so not only is he (or his statement) regionally bigoted (which
he has since apologized for), but an urban bigot as well, though I fully
expect he is intelligent and polite enough to realize this and apologize
for it.
