Actually, I would regard somebody who, after hearing the pros and cons
of being uplifted, said "I'm not going to change" as a rather extropian
person. Certainly more extropian than the instinctive "Yech, I will
*never* abandon the true way!" - which is just as unextropian as the
person who doesn't care to hear about the demands of self-augmentation
and just respons with a "Yay! Uplift me *now*!". Being extropian is
about taking responsibility for one's development and deliberatively
selecting what to become - including what *not to become*. To just go
with the stream, base ones development of preconceptions and not really
take charge over oneself is unextropian. Anti-extropians would rather
decide for others what to become (and especially what not to become).
