Anders, do bear in mind that the monoliths in the film were not
manufactured 1x4x9(x...:)). Clarke made the ratio up for the book. Your
1x5x12s could very well be about right for the versions filmed. IIRC,
they towered a bit more than a 1x4x9 would have.
