The US certainly isn't unique in that respect: the UK has had pretty
hideous record, fro example, being responsible for the persecution of
Oscar Wilde and Alan Turing (leading to his suicide), for example.
I have to admit, though, that I was quite sured by the California
result. But I suppose that even here 50% of the voters have below-
average IQs and are easily swayed by the lies of Prop 22 proponents.
