Isn't the point about sociopaths, as distinct from zealots, that they don't
*need* to feel righteous about what they do - or perhaps that they can't
help *but* feel righteous about whatever they do (but it's the absence of
such a metric that seems to define their condition)? But perhaps this is
quibbling.
