I wonder what would happen if we changed Lord Arthur's famous statement to
read: "A sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from religion"
?
Aside from the lawsuit for plagiarism and Dr. Clarke's expected statement
"well at least technology works!". Do you think that his demurement of
religion is partly due to prohibitions from "Leviticus" which proscribe
homosexuality? Being "abominated" by God does not leave Professor Clarke much
wiggle room, -no pun intended. Maybe religion and magic are superstitious
prefigureations of the distant future? On second thought, naaaaaaw.
