We may be rehashing an old arguement. Flight control is
probably an easy problem compared to the amount power
required, thus fuel devoured to achieve vertical flight. The
Moller air car is unconvincing in the arrangement of its lifting
surfaces, so the fans must be providing a lot of lift during
level flight. This is still ignoring the wind creation and the
noise problems, which are unlikely to go away.
Now, that arrangement with the two fans, and engine and
very little else might be a go... spike
