I haven't been buying from Amazon for quite some time now, even
before various patent issues came up. Amazon are going straight
for a monopoly on book selling, and even if still very far off that
prospect is worrying.
What started to deeply disturb me is that I keep running into people
who use Amazon.com as a catalog of books in print. "That book isn't
available, I just checked Amazon." No concept that Amazon might be
incomplete. Complete ignorance that Amazon/US doesn't list British
books at all.
Since they supposedly still lose money from each book sold, I'm
doing them good by not ordering there...
