More likely: an open market in brides. It is the young men who want
girlfriends rather than parents wanting girls again. This already
occurs on a small scale, but it might become very significant if China
becomes prosperous enough. Most likely it will be something like poor
or ambitious Indonesian women moving to the booming Chinese economy.

I think we will see some interesting social changes in many parts of
the world as both better female education spreads (a good antidote to
population growth and fundamentalism) and increased female value
combine to leverage women upwards.
