Theres a joke about that. A group of Japanese businessmen were
visiting a Silicon Valley company and were introduced to the
25 yr old VP of product development, who was dressed in a T-shirt
and sweat pants, etc, typical SV business uniform. They commented
to each other: "Aaaah soooo. Must be vellly important emproyee,
coming to work dressing in such mannaaaah."
The reason this story is funny is that it isnt too far from the truth.
The *real* techno-hotshots really do come to work looking
like that, whereas the techno-have-not wannabes [like me] tend
