Sorry for my misinterpretation. This is a valid point.
The medical community, rather than seeing the possibility
that an alternate sex form could survive quite successfully
seems determined to fit them into the square or round hole.
We do have a ways to go before it is seen that raising
children as hetero/homo/bi/a-sexual are all equally valid
choices. Raises interesting questions as to whether
beastiality could be considered a valid preference because
the problems of securing informed consent from your dog
or sheep are even greater than those for a minor.
The real problem of course comes to dealing with the self-image
issues of adults (parents, teachers, etc.) than when a young
person chooses a primary mode different from your own, not feeling
threatened by that choice.
